Song of the week ending 25, May 2007

anandarupiniye thiranju, amrithasvarupiniye thiranju
I have been seeking the form of ananda (bliss), I have been seeking the form of immortality (amrita)
ajnaananaashini jnaanapravaahini aatmasvarupiniyennarinju, aatmasvarupini ennarinju
That form which removes ignorance and gives knowledge, I came to know it as the Atman (of the nature of Self).

kanthuranneeduvor kandeelaninroopam kaathorthirunnavar ketteelanin naadam
Those who have their eyes open cannot see the form of the Atman (which is blissful and immortal); those who have their ears open cannot hear the sound of the Atman.
kan adaccheedu kaathadakkeedu, ullil theliyum hridayanivaasini ullil theliyum hridayanivaasini
Close your eyes, control your ears and will shine inside the Self which is situated in the heart (Self experience will ensue).

ella bhaagyangalum maranjaalmaatram kittunna soubhaagyame
When all bhagyam (luck) vanish, then alone will we get soubhagyam (divine luck of realization of the Self).
ella soundaryavum marannaalmaatram kittunna soundaryame
When every beauty is forgotten, then alone will we get the divine beauty of the Self.
ulkan thurakkuvaan shakthi ekeedane unmattanaakkeedane
Give me the strength to open my inner-eyes and make me to be always immersed in you.
ullil theliyunna naalvareyum kannu neeril kulicheedum njaan, kannu neeril kulicheedum jnaan
Till that day when the Self does not shine in my heart, I will be bathing in tears.

This song has too much depth that an entire article can be written on this, but will stop here and let the reader himself delve into the depths of this song.

Since there are IPR violations of putting AMMA's songs from CDs on public sites, have recorded the song which can be found here. Please bear the noise, disturbance and awful singing as am not a singer.
