Song of the week ending 1, June 2007

Prem ki agan ho
bhakthi se ghan ho
man me lagan ho
to prabhu mil jaayenge

When there is pure love
When there is depth of devotion
When there is effort in the mind
Then the Lord will be attained

hridaya mein bhaava ho
anunay ki chaav ho
aaraadhan kaa bhaava ho
to man khil jaayenge

When there is love in the heart
When there is shade of consolation
When there is an attitude of worship
Then mind will blossom (like a lotus)

sraddha ki joth ho
man mein nakot ho
karunaa kaa sroth to
to prabhusree aayenge

When there is the light of faith
When the mind is pure
When there is compassion in the Lord
Then the Lord will come

charanon ki chaah ho
bhakthi pravaah ho
pooja ki raah ho
to prabhu harshaayenge

When there is desire for the feet (of the Lord)
When there is flow of devotion
When there is the path of worship to the Lord
Then the Lord will become joyful

bhajanon ke bhol ho
bhaav anmol ho
archan ke mol ho
to prabhu muskaayenge

When there are words of bhajans (singing)
When the attitude is priceless
When there is the price of archan (offering)
Then the Lord will smile

naarayan dhan ho
chavi mein madan ho
archan bandhan ho
to prabhu darshaayenge

When there is the wealth of Narayan (Lord)
When there is the Lord in one's heart
When there is the bondage of offering (bondage for the Lord)
Then the Lord will give vision

This song is a beautiful expression of a devotee towards the Lord. The words are simple yet profound. The tune and mood in which this is sung gives us the state of a devotee who is ardently seeking the Lord, wants the Lord at any cost and knows the way to get vision of the Lord. Each paragraph slowly unfolds the Lord first as coming, then as joyful, smiling and finally getting a real vision of the Lord as the substratum of all existences. The tune and words are beautiful and beyond words; it is just apprehendable through experience alone.

Since there are IPR violations of putting AMMA's songs from CDs on public sites, have recorded the song which can be found here. Please bear the noise, disturbance and awful singing as am not a singer.
