Song of the week ending 14, Mar 2008

Siva siva hara hara Siva siva hara hara
Megham bhara dara damaru sundara hara

O Siva, O Destroyer of bad qualities!
One who carries rain, one who plays the beautiful damaru, our prayers.

Kara trishula dhara abhaya suvara dhara
Bhasma anga dhara jaataajuta dhara
Baala chandra dhara deena nayana dhara
Naaga haara dhara mundamaala dhara

O Siva, having trident in your hand, offering the boon of compassion in your hand
Wearing ashes all over your body, tying your hair into a long tuft
Having a small moon above your forehead, having compassionate eyes
Wearing a serpant over your neck and wearing heads of people as a necklace, our prayers

This is a very simple bhajan praising Siva. The original is sung by Swami Amritasvaroopananda Puri who sings it so beautifully. The song has been recorded in my voice which can be found here. Please bear the noise, disturbance and awful singing as am not a singer.
