Song of the week ending 03, October 2008

Amritavahini aayittavaniyil avatharicchamarum
naayike ninne kaivanangunnen
sruthiyukthyaanubhavangalorumicchuvilayichorathulya
sundararoopam vijayichaaalum

We prostrate unto you who have come into this world as ruler and giver of immortality
Let such a beautiful form which is priceless and perfect blend of scriptures, logic and experience (all three are required for realization and realized master will have this in unison).

Mathibandham akaluvaan pakaliravukalellaam
paadupedunnavarkennum abhayadaatri
Athiratta karunayodamarunnitha namukkam
paramaatmasvabodhathe unartheeduvaan

In order to get rid of all bondages; in order to go beyond the duality of day-night etc. you are the shelter for people who seek all these
You are there with boundless compassion to give us the bliss of the supreme Self and make us realize it

Bhavanadithirakale kadannozhukuvaanini
Samayamaay samarthare poruka ningal
kaipidichu karettuvaan karuthinilpathundamma
kanduvo nammalku nanmavaruvaanaayi

O dear friends! It is time now to cross over the ocean of samsaara filled with strong waves through courage
As AMMA is readily waiting to hold our hands and take us out of the ocean of samsaara in order to do us good

Janmanaalinnithaa dhanyam nanmakal niranjulakilengum
namukkannathikaayinnu namikkam
vrathamantra japamellam vrathaavilaakilum guru
karunathan mizhithannal phalam nirnayam

The birthday of AMMA (today) is very blessed indeed for us and thereby let us prostrate AMMA
Even though chanting, vows etc. might not be useful still the Guru's grace can give us the fruit of moksha definitely

Parihasichaalum janam paribhavikkaruthu naam
paramapaavaniyethaan aaraadhichaalum
thikavuttoraviduthe thiruvullalinjennaal
thikavinnaay namukku pinnalajnidendaa

Even if people mock at us, let us not be sad and always worship ever-pure AMMA
If AMMA's heart melts, then we don't have to roam around seeking bliss

Mananam cheythakam thelinjudalabhimaanam neengi
svaroopasudhaarnavathil thuzhanjupokaam
athinnaayi aviduthe sahaayathinnapekshichaal
arikathillanayum pinnamrithu nalkum

Let the mind get purified by reflection; let the sense of ego and body-feeling vanish; let us immerse in the ocean of our very nature of immortality (bliss)
For us to do so, if we seek your help you will stay alongside us and then give us immortality

Athunukarnnunarumbol irulalayakalum
pinnakhilaandam prabhaapoornam chinmayamaakum
anarghamaamathunedaan kshana neram kalayaathe
amritavaahiniyil pukkabhayam thedoo

When we partake the immortality, darkness of ignorance and sorrow will vanish
Then the entire world will be filled with complete light which is consciousness in nature (the entire world will become filled with Ishwara)
For us to get that soon, let us not waste even a moment
And thereby seek shelter from the abode of immortality (vehicle of immortality)

Thithi thaara thithi thai thithai thaka thai thai thom
thai thai thai thai thai thai thai thithai thaka thai thai thom
thithi thaara thithi thai thithai thaka thai thai thom
thithi thaara thithi thai thithai thaka thai thai thom
(thai thai thai thai thai thai thai thithai thaka thai thai thom)

This is a song praising AMMA. This is generally sung during onam - the final words of the song which is repeated in between each paragraph is an adaptation of the song sung during boat race around alapuzha (which is very near to Amritapuri).Valiya Swami sings this very beautifully which cannot be expected out of this recording. But still the song has been recorded in my voice which can be found here.
