Song of the week ending 26, June 2009

Varunnennu thonnunnu varadaayakan ente
hridaya mandirathinte nadayiletti
Etho nigoodamaam sneha nirdhaarayil
neenthaan thudangunnen svaanthamippol

It appears that Krishna has almost reached the door of my heart
My mind is merging into some unexplainable flow of love

Aharnisham aatmaavil avane orthirunnupoy
karuthiyil orupidi avil polum njaan
varuneram oru vasthu karuthaathe maruvukil
karunaamayan krishnan enthu thonnum

Since I have been thinking about him day and night, therefore I haven't even kept one handful of avil in my hands?
Since he is coming and I haven't forecasted anything for him, would the compassionate Krishna think something?

Karunaarda maanasanalle mukhil varnan
paribhavikkilaayirikkam kannan
ithaayingu vannetthi vannennu thonnunnu
peethaambharathin prashobha kando

Isn't Krishna an ocean of compassionate, therefore he may not feel bad
Looks like he has reached as I can see the glory of his yellow dress

Atmarpanam cheythe theerelkum njaan appol
Aashirvadikkathirikkilavan
Bhagavad padangalen mizhineeral kazhukumbol
karunaneer thookathirikkilavan

Since I have decided to offer myself unto him, therefore he will definitely not remain without blessing me
When I wash his lotus feet with tears from my eyes, the compassionate Lord will definitely wipe the tears from my eyes

This is a very beautiful song set in the Raga Kharaharapriya. This is a first-person perspective of the mental state of a devotee who has been awaiting Lord Krishna in his heart and when Krishna arrives in the heart of the devotee. The wordings are very deep and tune is apt in the raga. The song sung in my voice can be found here.
