Song of the week ending 21, August 2009

Sapthasvara rupini mrithyunjaya mohini
Bhakthaabhaya daayini rakthaamshuka daarini

O Goddess of the form of sapthasvaras (seven svaras), who loves mrithyunaja mantras (gives conquery over death) One who gives abhaya (protection, refuge) to devotees and wears

Hriddesha nivaasini mattaapa vinaashini
Sacchinmaya rupini nakram diva saakshini

One who resides in the heart and remover of my sorrows
One who is of the nature of Sat and Chit (Existence & Consciousness) and is always a saakshi (witness)

Hrinnarthana kekini sruthyaagama vaadini
Prithvi paripaalini maadhvi sivakaamini

One who likes to do narthana and one who is praised in the scriptures
One who protects earth and one who is the consort of Siva

This is a very simple yet elegant song set in Raga Shuddha Dhanyaashi and sung very beautifully by Swami Pranavamrithananda Puri. The song sung in my voice can be found here Pardon the tune going off at places.
