purushottama adhokshaja naarasimhaachyutha

This song is set in Darbaari Kaanada Raag. The words are simple and very well known to us as the various names of Lord Vishnu. It is also evident that the names form part of the sandhya vandanam. The meanings of each of the names is vast and beyond the scope of this page but interested people can look into the Vishnu Sahasranama for the meanings (Sankara's bhashya is famous on the Sahasranama and so is the book brought out by Ramakrishna Mission and Chinmaya Mission). Please pardon the initial aalaap of the raag. This song is sung beautifully by Swami Amritasvaroopananda (AMMA's first sanyaasi disciple). Though there has been no cassette where the song is present yet it is a speechless experience to hear Swamiji sing it:). The song has been recorded in my voice which can be found here. Please bear the noise, disturbance and awful singing as am not a singer.
