Song of the week ending 30, October 2009

Yadupathi manahari nirupama gunamayi
Raadhe jaya jaya navarasike
hari viharini vraja vipina vihaarini
surajana nathapada kamalayuthe

O Radha! Hail to you who are enjoyer of all nava rasas and one who steals the heart of Krishna and with incomparable qualities
One who steals the heart of Krishna and all the people of vraja; one whose lotus feet are worshipped by Devathas

Mridumridu hasitha mukhee manahaarini
Raasa rasojwala kanthimayi
madhuripu hridaya vilaasini mohini
manalaya kaarini jaya raadhe

One who steals minds, whose face bears a subtle (beautiful) smile, one whose face shines with all essence
One who resides in the heart of the killer of Madhu (Krishna), hail to you O Radha! one who leads to cessation of the mind

Nava nava madhumaya raagavinodhini
mridhupada natana vilaasamayee
vrajavana kunja nivaasini raagini
raasa raaseshwari jaya radhe

One who enjoys all new-new tunes, one who rejoices in soft and beautiful dances
O Radha! Hail to you who lives in the minds of people of vraja and one who is the god of essence or music (rasa)

Vrajaramanikula mauli manohari
yugala manohara natanarathe
muralimanohara vadana vilokini
vidhi shiva vanditha charanayuge

O beautiful one who was born in the kula of vrajas, one who is ever interested in dancing
One who gives happiness to the face of Krishna who plays the flute and one whose feet are worshipped by even Shiva

Radhe shyaam radhe shyaam radhe shyaam shyaam shyaam radhe shyaam
This is a very beautiful song about Radha, the consort of Krishna. This song praises Radha and evokes supreme devotion towards the Lord through looking and contemplating on how Radha used to be (Radha's devotion to the Lord is peak and learning from it can make us attain that state of pure devotion). This is very humble attempt at this song originally sung beautifully by Swami Amritaatmaananda Puri. The song sung in my voice can be found here
