Jeevanmukthi soothram - Translation 1. Thus let's enquire into jeevanmukthi. 2. It is, definitely, realization of Brahman. 3. Brahman definitely is the reality which is the substratum of the illusory world and of the nature of Existence, Consciousness and Bliss. 4. And (Brahman) is of the form of non-dual and indivisible blissful Consciousness. 5. Brahman's beginning-less unreal power alone is Maya. 6. Duality is created by Maya alone. 7. Due to duality, jeeva and ishwara are created. 8. Ishwara is all-knowing and all-pervasive. 9. Jeeva, but (on the contrary), is little-knowing and little-pervasive. 10. (Jeeva is) one who identifies with bodies like gross etc. (subtle and causal). 11. Jeeva is Brahman alone. 12. Due to differences because assumed/created by adjuncts (of body etc.). 13. And as differences will lead to faults like anavasthaa (infinite regression etc.) . 14. Ignorance is the cause of reality of duality (duality being considered as real)> 15. Removal (of ignorance) definitely is through knowledge alone. 16. As proved by sruthi, yukthi etc. (scriptures, logic and experience). 17. And as other means are negated (other than jnaana or knowledge). 18. Like light and darkness. 19. Knowledge is of two types - jnaana and vijnaana. 20. Jnaana or knowledge is theoretical/conceptual and indirect. 21. Vijnaana or wisdom is intuitive direct experience. 22. (Vijnaana is) also famous as abidance in Brahman. 23. Jnaana is the utterances in Vedanta which is proven through one's intellect and logic. 24. Easily this is attained through the thousands of commentaries/works. 25. Fruit (of jnaana) is removal of doubts and impossibilities (about Brahman/moksha). 26. But removal of contrary notions is only through vijnaana. 27. Because of it alone being direct 28. And as it alone is directly experienced. 29. He who after vijnaana abides in Brahman naturally and at all times, he is a jeevanmuktha. 30. His state is jeevanmukthi. 31. Jeevanmukthi is beyond any state, but still since no other word suits therefore apt is its usage. 32. Jeevanmukthi alone is the ultimate goal. 33. Very high and to be sought out. 34. One's very nature as well. 35. While living in vyavahaara (empirically, in the world), this is the state without any faults. 36. Untouched by sorrow. 37. Filled with bliss. 38. Vyavahaara also is unaffecting (negated and therefore unaffecting). 39. Being unreal and known through vijnaana 40. Jeevanmukthi is not unattainable, since we can see it in Prof. Balakrishnan Nair. 41. Jeevanmukthi is the treasure of one's own very bliss and the state of direct experience as "everything is Brahman", therefore it is duty alone, it is duty alone. Thus ends jeevanmukthi sootram written by brahmakumaara, disciple of devi and balakrishna.
